Sweet Treats- Scrapalicious USA Challenge

Hey everyone! Good Morning, and Happy Wednesday to you all!

Today is a special day, it is Challenge Day for Scrapalicious USA!

Yesterday was the first day of Summer, and although it was rainy and dreary here in Wisconsin, it was still pretty warm (well high 60's, which is warm for us lol)

Anyways, when you think of a hot summer day what comes to mind?

To me it is playing in the yard as a kid, running through a sprinkler, and having a yummy, cold Sweet Treat!

Those were the best days! 

So for today's Challenge the theme is Sweet Treats using a Jolee's Sticker!

I kept it fairly simple because as we all know, summer is usually a hectic time, so that sometimes means not a lot of crafting time!

Ok, on to my project:

 

I just love Popsicles!!! Mmmmmmmmm

Here is what I used:

Family Fun Jolee's Stickers

Bakers twine by Mind's Eye

Pearl Tropical Brad by American Crafts

Paper from my stash

Popsicle was cut at 2" from Doodlecharms cricut cart

Ssss-weet stamp is from My Pink Stamper stamp set

It is so true! Smiling can warm a heart, or brighten a day! It is one of the most powerful tools we own that can be given daily!

Today is Challenge Day for Scrapalicious USA

We were asked to make a project with the theme Smile, in anyway, using a ribbon or trim from My Mind's Eye  ( Which can be found at amazingly low prices on the Scrapalicious USA Store Site) You just HAVE to check it out!

So onto my project for this week:

 Here is what I used:

My Mind's Eye Lost & Found trim

Basic Grey Half Back Pearls

Stampavie Stamp- Teenage Love

Copic Markers

Smile sentiment stamp was one I had in my stash

Gina K Paper in Luxury White

Other papers were from my stash

For Day 2 of the "Thank you to our Teachers" Blog Hop I decided to go for an altered project that I thought fit in with the "teacher" theme!

I bought an old clipboard from a garage sale last weekend (and yes I paid only 10 cents!!)
and wasn't sure what I would do to it. So I sat down and stared at it for a long time and then I thought, "what am I doing!!?, Just go for it". So I took out my acrylic paints and went to town.

Here is how it turned out:

 

I didn't want to go with a traditional look; (with school buses, apples, etc.)

I wanted to make it "girly" and frilly

 

Here is what I did:

I painted the entire clipboard with black acrylic paint

then painted the metal clip with a primer and then used pink acrylic paint along with a shimmer acrylic paint to add some glitz to my project

I used my hot glue gun to attach some ribbon to the clip along with some flat back pearls

and 2 flowers in black and pink to the corners

Lastly I tied a pink ribbon to the hole on the top of the clip

It is simple but I just love how it turned out! I think it would be pretty to hang up on a wall and add notes or lists under the clip!

Scrapalicious Challenge Wednesday! Accordian Card!

So let me start by saying, is anyone ELSE having a bad week? Because I sure am! I don 't know if it is the heat and humidity here in Wisconsin, or just a grumpy mood, but I just can't seem to snap out of this funk!

I tried creating in my craft area and I just didn't feel inspired to be there! Does anyone else ever feel that way? and if so, what do you find helpful to get past it?

Anyways, on to one of my favorite times of the week!
Scrapalicious USA Challenge Wednesday

This week's challenge is to create an accordian project using Basic Grey Paper!

Well I jumped right on making one of my favorite accordian rosettes! and I was eager to choose some awesome Basic Grey Paper from the Scrapalicious USA Store

Here is my card: 

This is what I used:

Brown cardstock from my own stash

Basic Grey Indian Summer Paper for the accordian flower and banner pieces
(found at the awesome Scrapalicious USA Online store)

Tulip puffy paint for the pearl florish

A half back pearl from the dollar bin at Joann's

White embossing powder 

Happy Birthday Stamp from my stash

Tim Holtz distress embossing ink

Made it Myself Monday is the name-Sewing is the Game!!

Ok so as some of you may know I am not much of a sewer. My passion is geared more towards paper crafts, but like many crafters, I enjoy playing around with new and challenging techniques in the crafting world.
Sooooooooo with that said, awhile back I pulled out my handy dandy sewing machine (and dusted it off a little) and decided to make myself a bag.

I think it turned out ok. The stitches aren't super straight and I'm sure the seams are uneven, but hey, I did it! And I finished it, therefore I am proud of myself!
What do you guys think??

The message is clear and so big here: INSPIRE! Isn't that what all teachers do? They inspire children to be the best they can be!

Here is what I used on my card:

Paper: from an old pack of Colorbok paper called "Peaches and Pomegranates"

Apple was cut at 2 1/2" from the Doodlecharms Cricut Cartridge

"Inspire" stamp was from a Fiskars stamp set named "Celebrate"

And I used VersaMagic chalk ink in Spanish Olive (Which I LOVE)

Guy Card- Scrapalicious USA Challenge

For this week's Scrapalicious USA Challenge we were given a theme AND a specific product to showcase.
The theme for this Wednesday is to create a Guy Card and to use one of the amazing Spellbinders they offer on the Scrapalicious USA online store!

To many crafters making a Guy Card can pose to be a challenge because we are so used to making projects that appeal to other crafters and to ourselves, and although there are quite a few talented men in the craft community, a majority of us are women! What does this mean? Lots of flowers, frills and dainty embellishments! That doesn't give much room to practice making "manly" type projects. Don't get me wrong, there is no doubt that as women we do not need to be "pinned down" to only making feminine projects, but for me it is definitely out of my comfort zone to create something that is more "appealing" to a man.
So onto my project for this week:

I decided to create a card to give to my Hero, my Dad, on Father's Day (June 19, 2011)

Here is what I used to make my card:

Spellbinders Eyelet Circle Die 

EK Success Lattice Chain Punch

(Both from the terrific online store: Scrapalicious USA)

All paper was from the K&Company "Roam" Paper stack

"Dad" is from The Paper Studio Flocked Alphabet Stickers

Buttons were from my own stash

I also used Ranger Dabber paint in Gold to ink the edges of the torn paper
