Thank You to our Teachers Blog Hop! Day # 2

Welcome to the Thank You To Our Teachers Blog Hop!  If you have arrived here from the amazingly talented Jen's Blog then you are on the right track.  If you just happened to stop by my blog for a visit and want to hop along with us, start from the beginning with Jen R's Blog. For Day 2 of the "Thank you to our Teachers" Blog Hop I decided to go for an altered project that I thought fit in with the "teacher" theme!

I bought an old clipboard from a garage sale last weekend (and yes I paid only 10 cents!!)
and wasn't sure what I would do to it. So I sat down and stared at it for a long time and then I thought, "what am I doing!!?, Just go for it". So I took out my acrylic paints and went to town.

Here is how it turned out:

 

I didn't want to go with a traditional look; (with school buses, apples, etc.)

I wanted to make it "girly" and frilly

 

Here is what I did:

I painted the entire clipboard with black acrylic paint

then painted the metal clip with a primer and then used pink acrylic paint along with a shimmer acrylic paint to add some glitz to my project

I used my hot glue gun to attach some ribbon to the clip along with some flat back pearls

and 2 flowers in black and pink to the corners

Lastly I tied a pink ribbon to the hole on the top of the clip

It is simple but I just love how it turned out! I think it would be pretty to hang up on a wall and add notes or lists under the clip!
