So Proud to be an American!!!!

My favorite time of week has come once again!! Fabulous Wednesday Challenge time at Scrapalicious USA!
Can you guess the theme this week?????
It is Memorial Day of course!!! What a wonderful day to remember all of the men and women who have given their lives for our freedom!
I for one think that everyday should be a day to remember these armed forces, but I also stop and wonder, how can I show my gratitude and appreciation???
Well as a start I have created this card:

Here are the awesome products I used:
  • Elephant was cut from the Create a Critter Cricut Cartridge
  • On the Elephants hat I used a white flower and clear bling (died red with Ranger alcohol ink) from the  Doodlebug Sweet Shoppe set found at Scrapalicious USA
  • I added a small bow to jazz up my elephant with ribbon from my stash and to finish him off I added some cute googly eyes
  • As an accent on my card, from the same Doodlebug Set, I used a large white brad and small blue brad (which was white until I colored it blue with a Bic Mark It marker) and a red brad from my own stash.
  • The sentiment was spelled out with white alphabet stickers and placed on a hand cut banner.
  • All the paper is from my own stash
On the inside of my card:
So although it is just a small start, I want to give a great big:
THANK YOU TO ALL OF THOSE MEN AND WOMEN WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES SO I COULD BE SITTING HERE SHARING MY PASSION FOR PAPER CRAFTING!!!

Now it's your turn to join in: Go on over to the Scrapalicious USA Challenge Blog
and show us how you are going to give your thanks on this Memorial Day!!
*Remember*

Can you say HAPPY TIME???

It is Wednesday and you all know what that means! Time for another SUPER Fantastic Scrapalicious USA Challenge!!!! Whoot! Whoot!

I just love this time each week, it gives me a chance to really push my creativity and expand outside of my comfort level.
And wow, that is JUST what I did this week.

This week's theme is: Graduation
I had visions of scrolls and "2011's" and flat top hats (what are those called??) anyways, I just couldn't seem to think of a way to work those all in together to make a Graduation card!
I know! I know! It should have been easy, well I don't know why, but I was unable to wrap my brain around it!
SOoooo.....I went another direction! And here is what I created!
To me Butterflies represent Freedom, the whole "Spread your Wings and Fly"! It just really made me think about how I felt when I graduated! And that is how I felt, independent, invincible and so ready to take on the world!!

Here is what I used :
Craft Cardstock from my stash for the base of the card
Butterflies were cut from a "Glitz Design" pattern paper
Pink and White buttons were from this SUPER adorable Doodlebug Sweet Shoppe Set (from the one and only Scrapalicious USA Shop)
Lace trim again was just a scrap from my stash
And the Congratulations sentiment was cut out from a piece of 8.5 x 11 sheet of single pattern paper
Easy peasy!! (ok well it really wasn't easy to think of, but once I had the idea it all just came together)

So don't forget to head over to the Scrapalicious USA Challenge Blog to link up your  projects for this Weekly Wed. challenge and WIN AWESOME PRIZES!!!
Good luck everyone, I can't wait to see your interpretation of a "Graduation" Card!
Happy Crafting!

Flowers, Flowers Everywhere! Scrapalicious USA Challenge

Hello again my crafty friends! I hope everyone had an amazing Mother's Day and a wonderful week!
It is that time again when I get to pull out all my goodies from the awesome online store; Scrapalicious USA and play!
And that is exactly what I did! I played with some awesome paper and punches and glue, oh my!
Here is my project for this week, following the weekly theme of: FLOWERS

Here is what I used to make this card:

Basic Grey Flat back pearls
(The supplies above can all be found at Scrapalicious USA)
Yellow, Pink and Orange cardstock from my stash
"Best Friend" & "Flower Stems" stamps from "Giggle Kids" Making Memories Stampset
Designer paper from K&Company Berry Sweet Stack
To make lollipop flowers;
1) I punched circles out with different size punches
2) Distressed the edges with my Tim Holtz distressing tool
3) Sprayed each circle with water
4) Crumpled up each one
5) Opened each circle again and dried them with my heating tool
6) Once dried I swiped some ink over them to add color
7) Added a brad to the center and "fluffed" the edges out to add dimension
VOILA you have a lollipop flower!!

I hope you enjoyed my card for this week! But onto better things:
IT'S YOUR TURN!
Navigate over to the Scrapalicious USA Challenge Blog to join in all the fun!
